What is an alfresco area?
‘Alfresco’ is Italian for in the fresh air. It’s an indoor-outdoor area, like a patio or outdoor entertaining area, but usually with a roof. In most Jandson designs it’s an area under the main roof of the house, open to the garden and fresh air, sheltered from the sun and rain.
Many Jandson Homes designs already include an alfresco area as standard in the floor plan and price; and almost all other designs can include one as an option. If your preferred design doesn’t show an alfresco area on the plan, just ask and we’ll work with you to build something perfect for your land, lifestyle, and budget.
Why ask Jandson to include an alfresco area in your new home?
Get a natural flow between your indoor and outdoor areas. If you enjoy outdoor living, the alfresco area adds to the lifestyle value of your home.
Construction efficiency and durability. The concrete floor of the alfresco area can be laid as part of the slab of the main house, with no gaps between the two concrete sections.
Protect your indoor areas from the sun. The roof over your alfresco area can provide an eave above windows and glass doors, protecting your home’s interior from the sun and potentially helping you achieve BASIX certification. If the alfresco area is not under the main roof of the house, we can offer roofing options including tiles or steel to match the rest of your house or tinted sheeting.
Get exactly what you want. We can work with you to incorporate everything you’ll need to make the most of your alfresco life, including a gas point for the BBQ, taps and tiles for the floor, or even an outdoor sink.
Save yourself future time and stress. You won’t have to submit another development application to council, run around getting quotes or attempt a DIY project!
